Pool Deck Leveling for Safe Summer Fun

When you have a pool at your house, your backyard quickly becomes the go-to spot for neighborhood cookouts, birthday parties, and family gatherings. When your space is where memories are made, keeping it in top shape matters. Uneven and cracked pool decks aren’t just an eyesore; they can create trip hazards that put a damper on summer fun. In this article, we’ll dive into the warning signs of pool deck damage and explain how Precision Foundation Services can restore your concrete with polyurethane injection pool deck leveling.

Symptoms of Pool Deck Damage

Homeowners can look out for these signs of damage to their concrete pool decks:

  • Cracks: Concrete pool decks may begin to crack over time. This may be the result of soil movement beneath the surface or water pooling on the pool deck.
  • Uneven Slabs: Uneven concrete slabs in pool decks can be trip hazards and may occur because of differential settlement or soil loss beneath one of the slabs.
  • Pooling Water: Water pooling on the surface of a concrete pool deck slab can indicate poor drainage below the slab. It may also be a result of one slab settling or sinking more than another.
  • Soil Loss: There may be visible soil loss around the perimeter of the pool deck.
  • Detached or Damaged Coping: The coping inside your pool may become detached or damaged. This may occur as a result of soil loss or other damage to the pool deck.

If you have noticed these signs of damage around your pool, it may be time to call an expert and schedule an inspection.

How Pool Deck Leveling from PFS Works

Pool deck leveling with polyurethane injection is a minimally invasive service that can often be completed in a single day. Your pool deck does not have to be demolished, and in most cases, the pool does not have to be drained. The process is simple, requiring only small holes drilled in the concrete pool deck.

  1. An inspection is conducted to determine where polyurethane injections should be placed.
  2. Small holes are drilled in the surface of the pool deck.
  3. Polyurethane is injected underneath the pool deck through the small holes. Underneath the slab, it begins to react and expand. The expansion slowly lifts the concrete back towards grade.
  4. A final inspection is conducted, and the holes are filled.

This simple process can mitigate trip hazards, eliminate uneven surfaces, and restore aesthetics without excavation or major interruption.
